Beyond Our Intentions: The Hidden Impact of Implicit Bias
Presented by Dr. Michael Ukoha, PT, DPT, LSVT
This course explores the concept of implicit bias and its impact on clinical care within various allied healthcare environments. This course will examine three of the most commonly used training models utilized in academic and clinical settings. This presentation aims to empower attendees to innovate within their respective academic and clinical settings by providing resources according to specific needs in their communities. It challenges our interprofessional healthcare community to confront the impact of subconscious biases on student satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and long-term behavioral changes. This course calls on educators, clinicians, and students to implement three actionable strategies to create an environment that offers a new standard of equity and inclusivity for various perspectives and experiences in the modern world.

Maryland Implicit Bias Training Mandate
