Usually at the beginning of December I do two things. I reflect on the year (good & bad) and buy my planner for the next year. This time around I did the same with a little more focus on one thing | sacrifices.
I think about the sacrifices I made in college to get to PT school. The deeper sacrifices in PT school to be a licensed PT. And as time has went on I’ve realized at each stage we have to make sacrifices big or small to keep moving forward. But life is about choices.
What are you willing to sacrifice to get where you want to be? Are you willing to take classes in summer or winter to free up time during your semester? Are you willing to go out one less night on the weekend to study? Those are all questions from academic lens but there’s more to life.
You’re more than your school. You’re more than your accomplishments. You’re more than you’re job. It’s easy to lose sight of that in the journey but always take time for yourself. To be with family. To be yourself unapologetically. Just to be.
Give yourself grace on the journey where you want to be. You deserve it.
